Throughout the closure, our team was working hard on improvements throughout the restaurant, hiring and training new team members, purchasing and upgrading our equipment and more. Since the shutdown, paralleling Pointe Orlando’s extensive renovation, our Orlando location has undergone a series of enhancements to our outdoor seating area, including the addition of a social media selfie faux green wall. Inside our 18,000 square foot bi-level space, a team of local artisans have painstakingly restored the colorful balconies, stained glass windows and arched doorways of our restaurant’s Old Havana Street scene. Also included in this investment is our new state-of-the-art sound and light equipment to heighten the dance floor energy.
Cuba Libre Orlando is also excited to announce our newest team leaders - Executive Chef Angel Roque and General Manager Edward Mercado. Both Angel and Edward have been part of the Cuba Libre family for many years. Angel, who immigrated from Cuba, brings with him a rich heritage and extensive culinary experience, having previously served as the executive chef at our Cuba Libre D.C. location and trained under Chef-Partner Guillermo Pernot. Edward, who has been with Cuba Libre for six years, has grown with the company, having first served as nightlife doorman, supervisor, manager, and now general manager.
